Cactus and snow - crazy winter day in Nevada

We took a one mile hike up to Ice Box Canyon which today was literally slippery ice and snow. Everyone was cold and wet, but a fun short hike.

Kelsie wanted this photo with someone's snowman. The sun went down behind the mountain and really cooled things down. Chillllly . . .

Packing her snowball tight just waiting for a good shot before letting it go.

Making their way up the trail to the little water fall.

The kids loved to get grandpa ... notice the two hits on his shirt. No need to worry that grandpa didn't get them back however.

We stopped and had a snowball fight. Tons of people had the same idea that Kim did. I've never seen so many cars milling around Red Rock.

The contrast between the red rocks and the snow caps was so awesome. It is a rare sight to see snow in Red Rock Canyon. It rained all week in Las Vegas and you could see the snow on the peaks from our house. We took a drive through the scenic loop while we had Jennie and Robert's kids for the weekend. 02/23/2010
