We drove down to the beach house & spent the first couple
of days near Capitola. The kids played in the ocean.
We went for an early dinner at a restaurant on the water.
The band played for us and the mexican food was delicious.
When I heard that there was going to be a sand sculpture
contest on the beach one morning, we all got up early and
headed down to check it out. The group next to us asked
if we would like to join them and after helping them for a bit
we decided to make a smaller creation of our own.
Robert was the creative mastermind, but Kim and the kids
had such a great time building their turtle. The name for our
entry in the competition was FREE RIDE. The big turtle had
a baby turtle on it's back like in the movie Finding Nemo.
This creation took all morning and lots of work,
but we had a great time at the beach.

Your turtle is actually pretty good. Imagine if Rob wasn't there. Dad would have made something out of brick or stick people - it never fails!
I think you putting that flower thing in front of you and gramps was really stupid
