Octoberfest 2008

Each year since our girls were small we have had a family Octoberfest. This year we had a costume parade, painted the kids faces, carved pumpkins and played a fun game with the adults. The girls all brought Halloween inspired food and we ate a yummy dinner. I remember our first Octoberfest where I made a recipe called "Dinner In A Pumpkin" . . . yeah, not such a good idea. Even our dog at the time wouldn't eat any. We haven't repeated that recipe but have found some festive ideas over the years.

This year we painted the kids faces again which they really liked. We had to hurry to snap a photo before they were off to play. We have two birthdays in our family in October; Allison was 22 on October 29th and Leslie turned 30 this year on October 31st. How is it possible that they are that old? Pam was here visiting so she and Grandma Anderson came with us to our ward Trunk or Treat Activity. Zachary and Robert built a "Jack In The Box" costume together which was so great!. After our activity at the church we all went over to Jack in the Box so Zachary could show us around and introduce us to his co-workers. We took lots of pictures and had fun with the staff. This year the youngest grandchild was Vance who dressed up as a scarecrow. Colton is 1 1/2 and was a chicken. His huge costume is especially funny because he is so tiny.
