Cathedral Rock Picnic and Hike

We took the kids up to the mountains to beat the heat and have a little outing.  We haven't been to Cathedral Rock picnic area in years. As we looked for an area with a shady picnic table we spotted this one that had the beginnings of a fort made of logs.  This was total deja-vu for us since our kids would always build a fort a clubhouse whenever we took them camping.  The boys hauled some logs and the little guys some sticks toward their creation.  After our hike Kim set up some targets, ie. empty soda cans and water bottles, for the boys to throw rocks at.  We told them we wanted to see if they really were "sharp shooters".  Fun way to spend the afternoon.  The best part was Colton and Vance fell asleep on the way home and then laid down after we got home for a nice nap.  Fabulous!
