We stayed at the Sheraton in Arlington which is about 2 miles from the new Cowboys Stadium. Kim wanted to drive by and we decided to see if there was a tour of the facility which there was. I'm not a football fan but this stadium is very very impressive.
Check out the megatron or jumbotron - I can't remember the name. The huge HD screen that televises the actions on the field. It was enormous.
Occasionally the locker rooms are available on the tour and today was our lucky day. Kim had me take a photo with my phone to send to the little boys of Tony Romo's locker. I think he is the quarterback.
The masonry work was in Kim's professional opinion - excellent craftsmanship. The block in this photo cost about $35 a piece and are everywhere in the corridors and halls around the concessions and entry to seating areas. Chad told us that when they lived in Texas someone told him that when they started the hiring process for bricklayers that the company required an interview and to see a sample small wall of your work. You basically had to audition for a job on the stadium. Unless you are a bricklayer like Kim you may not appreciate this, but it was really good work.
This is at the beginning of the tour. There was an event that evening on the professional turf area that you can see in the background they are setting up for.
The tour took us into the private suites or boxes. The one here has seating for 60 people, a huge bar area, frig, flatscreen televisions and you name it.
