Main Street in Downtown Frisco, TX
We went to visit Jennie and Robert and the kids in Texas at the beginning of December. Their downtown had the coolest light show that was programmed to a local radio station playing Christmas music. About a 6 block area participated - it felt so festive. We drove through the streets and then browsed through the shops on Main. Fun holiday evening.

While Jennie and Robert were at work and the kids were at school Kim and I went exploring the area. One of the things I had heard about was Southfork Ranch where they filmed parts of the TV show "DALLAS", which was popular about 25 or so years ago.
We took the tour and enjoyed the ranch.
Jennie and Robert left for their cruise on Saturday morning. Kim was able to stay until Sunday morning and then I stayed with the kids for the next week. We took the kids ice skating at Stonebriar Mall. Kim hadn't been skating in years but he helped Mason get the hang of it. Kelsie and I did some shopping for a little bit. Melanie and Ryan were up from Oklahoma doing some shopping in Frisco for Christmas so we met up with them for a bit and visited.
On Saturday evening we went to Grapevine to see the boat parade on Lake Grapevine.
The Gaylord Hotel was amazing. It had sort of the same feel as the Bellagio Hotel on the Strip.
They had a beautiful atrium area you could wander around in. Jennie and Robert took the kids to the ICE show at the end of November which they said was so much fun. A huge display of art scuplture with a theme. Lots of ride and things to do. Kim and I didn't do this with the kids since they had just seen it. Maybe another time we will check it out.

I had talked to Jennie the month before the trip and asked if it would be okay if the kids missed school on Tuesday so that we could go to Grapevine and stay Monday evening at the Great Wolf Lodge. The kids played around in the indoor water park on Monday evening and then we went for dinner at Steak and Shake. On Tuesday we got up early and played all day at the water park. What a great place for a family vacation.
The kids were excited to have us eat with them at their favorite places. So we had to hit Chick Fil A and Firehouse Subs before we left Texas. Both were yummy!
We grabbed lunch at Firehouse subs on our way to the matinee at Studio Movie Grill.
I have missed Kelsie, Zachary and Mason but I am so glad that Frisco has been such a good fit for their family. Can't wait for the kids to come visit us again. Jennie and Robert had a great time on their cruise and enjoyed some R & R with their good friends.
Adam's mother came to babysit her grandsons too so we got together for lunch one day which was really nice. Clyda is so sweet which of course is evident in what a nice guy Adam her son is too. I met Amy Randall one day in McKinney for lunch in their downtown district at this little boutique cafe. We did a little shopping and had such a nice afternoon together. Amy and Corey had the Ogden kids and myself over to dinner on Sunday afternoon after church that first week. So great to see them too.
