The kids like to ride in the motorhome. Chad was working later so Allison rode up with us to Mtn Charleston. The boys like to look out the big window up front.
We walked over one afternoon to play games with the Waldron's You really had to bundle up if you were away from the campfire for very long.
Colton was a big helper with gathering kindling for the fire. It was pretty chilly at Mtn Charleston so a fire felt great all day actually.
Brayden and Logan went for the big logs to help with the fire. The kids had a great weekend.
We don't get to go with just one of our daughters very often. This year Allison went with Waldron's and Leslie's family had other plans too so Amy asked us if we wanted to just go camping with the two of us. It was so good to spend more time with just them. What a great idea Amy!
The boys found the beginning a a log fort on this one hike. They totally thought it was awesome.
In the evenings the kids would come into the motorhome and watch a kid movie. The boys would snuggle into the sofa bed and chill out together.
I picked up a few kites for the boys to play with. Not quite enough wind but they had fun playing with them for a bit. Logan's super cool dude face.
Colton was the most determined to fly is kite - wind or no wind. It was cute.
Logan made his kite fly on pure energy!
The kids loved to build a fire and of course then we just had to roast some marshmallows.
Man this is a terrible photo of me. Oh well.

Amy is the queen of smore making. I have to admit this is one of my favorite camping treats too. We made cobble and had ice cream one night too which hit the spot as well.
Waldron's were having a reunion with their family at Mtn Charleston the same weekend, so we were lucky to see a bit of Allison and Chad's family too. Axe cutting was a big hit with young and old.
Logan brought his Beyblades up camping so one afternoon they boys took them up to their fort.
Kim showed the kids how to use a hand saw. It was a little tricky for them and gave me a minor heart attack just watching them do it, but the boys thought it was cool.
